Bộ đề dự đoán IELTS Speaking Quý 1 (T1 – 04/2025)

3. Hometown

1. Where is your hometown?

→ I was born and raised in Son Tay, which is located on the outskirts of Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. It’s famous for its historical sites and scenic landscapes, providing a peaceful escape from the bustling capital.

→ I hail from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, which is celebrated for its picturesque landscapes and historical landmarks. The city is a melting pot of cultures, and its lively streets are always filled with energy, making it a captivating place to live.

→ I was born and raised in Hong Kong, which used to be a colony of the British Empire and is now a special administrative region of China. Being a global financial center and known for its stunning skyline and bustling harbor, it’s a place that uniquely blends Eastern and Western cultures.

2. Is that a big city or a small place?

→ It’s a relatively small place, allowing for a more intimate environment where everyone knows each other. This sense of community is something I truly appreciate, and the slower pace of life here is also quite refreshing compared to larger cities.

→ It’s definitely a large metropolis, full of life and energy. With millions of residents, it has a bustling urban environment that can be both exhilarating and overwhelming at times. The sheer size of the city means there’s always something happening.

3. Do you like your hometown?

→ Yes, I do have a strong affection for         . The friendly and welcoming nature of the people, the mouth-watering local cuisine and the strong sense of community make it a wonder place to call home. I feel fortunate to have grown up in such a culturally rich and vibrant city.

4. What do you like (most) about your hometown?

→ I particularly enjoy the food scene in          . The variety of delicious street food options is something that keeps me coming back for more. Whether it’s a bowl of noodles or some pastries, the culinary delights are endless.

→ What I appreciate most about my city is the beautiful landscapes. The mountains and parks provide a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, allowing me to unwind and recharge.

5. Is there anything you dislike about it?

→  While I love it here, the weather can be quite humid and stuffy during the summer months, which I find uncomfortable. It sometimes makes outdoor activities less enjoyable.

→  One thing I hate is the occasional traffic congestion, especially during rush hours when people are commuting to and from work and the streets are packed with vehicles and pedestrians, which can be quite frustrating.

→ I do have some reservations, particularly the pollution. The air quality can be poor at times, which is a concern for many residents, including myself. I wish there were more initiatives to address this issue.

6. How long have you been living there?

→ I was born and raised here and I’ve been staying here for my entire life, and during that time, I’ve seen the town evolve while still maintaining its charm. This familiarity has made it a comforting place to call home and given me a strong sense of belonging.

→ I have been residing in           for most of my life, having grown up here. This time has given me a deep appreciation for its culture and community, and I’ve witnessed its transformation firsthand.

7. Do you like living there?

→ Living in           has its perks, and what I appreciate most is how it offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity that keeps life interesting. The historical landmarks and stunning landscapes provide a picturesque backdrop for daily life.

→ Yes, I genuinely enjoy living in            . The energy of the city is contagious, and there’s always something to do or see. I enjoy exploring the local markets and experiencing the vibrant festivals that bring the community together. It’s a place that constantly inspires me and makes me feel alive.

→ No, I don’t particularly enjoy living here. While the city has its charms, the heavy traffic and pollution can be quite overwhelming at times. I often find myself longing for quieter, greener spaces where I can relax and unwind. The hustle and bustle sometimes makes it challenging to find peace.

8. Do you think you will continue living there for a long time?

→ While I love living in           , I’m open to the idea of exploring other places. I will probably be staying here for a few more years, as it feels like home, but before turning 30, I believe I will have been travelling around the world before settling down.

→ I might still stay in            for the foreseeable future, but I also envision traveling and experiencing life in other cities as well. That said, I can’t imagine leaving this vibrant place behind anytime soon, given my attachment to the city and its culture. I feel there’s still so much to discover here.

9. Please describe your hometown a little. What’s your hometown famous for?

→ Son Tay is famous for its historical significance, particularly the Son Tay Citadel, which dates back to the 19th century. This site is a testament to our rich cultural heritage.

→ Hanoi is famous for its rich history and cultural heritage. The city is known for its beautiful lakes, ancient temples, and delicious street food, which attract both

locals and tourists. The Old Quarter, in particular, is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the essence of Hanoi.
